Beginner Wheel

Build confidence on the pottery wheel while developing the core skills needed to work independently in the studio. Over six weeks, students learn centering, shaping, trimming, handle-making, and glazing while creating functional forms such as cups, bowls, mugs, spoon rests, and plant pots. The final week focuses on glazing, with students applying their own finishes using the studio’s full range of glazes. By the end of the course, students will leave with finished ceramic pieces and a strong set of wheel-throwing skills to continue building on.

Schedule: this workshop meets once a week for six consecutive weeks on the same day and time. each session is 2.5 hours, for a total of 15 hours of instruction. please book only if you can attend all six dates.
Skill level: first-time potters through beginners. no prior wheel experience is required.
